The Goliath makes an incredibly punchy sound and creates precisely the warm saturation
I was looking for.
I even use it in my solo bass setup, where I put great value on very high sound quality.
Especially when it comes to fretless bass it's an actual ear candy device.
It has been love at the first tone, and I can't imagine ever switching it off.

The "Goliath Emphasizer Plus" Preamp is such a versatile and perfect sounding tool, that i will not stop using it anymore. for many years i used different preamps and amplifiers in different price ranges, but i never found any devices that were so simple to use and still serve different sounds that are always in the highes quality. the preamp is well built and every feature makes absolutely sense. i use the preamp with many different basses, from rickenbacker to fender style precision and jazz basses or active powered basses. they all come to live by using the 3 way equaliser and the adjustment of the gain stage at Goliath´s input stage. I even used it for a Moog Synthesizer and it sounded amazing. I bought the Goliath because we are recording a new Album for a Psychedelic Stone Rock band and the Preamp performs amazingly in the Drop C Tuning while feeding the signal direct into the Mixer with its Tube Powered XLR Direct out. The Signal is already slightly compressed and absolute ready for a great sounding bass tone on the record. i was able to sell my very expensive compressor, because the tube in the Goliath already cleans my signal in the right amount.
for the last album i used a very rare and old tube DI Box from Ampeg and i tried to find anything similar for a reasonable price.
with the Goliath Preamp i found an even better device, that is way more versatile and fun to use. I can imagine that the preamp is even great for many other sound sources and i will keep on using it in studio and live for many years.
Roland, the engineer of the Preamp is very helpful and always answers or gives input to m ideas. that’s service at its absolute best.

We use them for a while, and then we buy something new.

The spectacular thing about the Goliath is that it is not spectacular in a superficial, excessive way.
If switched on, its effect comes to me on a cat's paws rather than on the chains of a bulldozer.
If switched off however, I miss the effect immediately and turn the Goliath back into function again.

A while ago I bought the WR Goliath Emphasizer "DI". I use the device permanently
since then in any kind of situation, both on stage and for recording. The goliath modifies the sound only
marginally,
it is as if it breathes life into the rest of my setup. But when I switch it off I notice,
how big the difference it makes actually is. I have several other "little sound helpers",
for instance the Cocacomp by Okko, the FET overdrive by Tritonelab and the VT Bass by Tech 21.
All of them work just fine without the Goliath, but in conjunction with it they are really perfect.

Visual appearance and haptics speak for themselves, touching the controls and switches you feel the quality.
The effect itself is subtle but striking. Your fellow musicians may not notice the difference if the
Goliath ist switched on or off, but the playing experience for me as a bass player ist beyond comparison,
the whole range of frequencies is "gleaming" and the tone is enhanced with a warmth and depth
you only get - not using the Goliath - with first-class tube-amps. Once you turn it on you're hooked on its sound,
and for me there is no reason to just use it as a "booster". From now on, the gadget is always plugged in".
